Acts as an on/off valve to start or stop flow in a pipeline. It offers excellent sealing performance and is particularly well-suited for complex media such as slurries, high-viscosity fluids, and crystalline or prone-to-settling substances, with minimal risk of clogging.
When equipped with an electro-pneumatic positioner, the valve achieves approximately linear or equal-percentage flow characteristics for continuous modulation. It is ideal for applications where extreme precision is not a primary requirement.
The diaphragm completely isolates the process media from the actuator and the external environment. This prevents corrosive media from damaging the actuator and stops external contaminants from compromising the media, making it ideal for food, pharmaceutical, and high-purity water applications with strict hygiene standards.
The valve body lining and diaphragm can be manufactured from various corrosion- and abrasion-resistant materials (such as fluoropolymers and specialized elastomers) to withstand strong acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and abrasive slurries in harsh service conditions.
The valve can be configured as Air-to-Open (FC – Fail Close) or Air-to-Close (FO – Fail Open). In the event of air supply failure or power loss, it automatically returns to a safe position (fully open or fully closed) to ensure system safety.pplications.
